03 — Finishes

Your Finish. Your Look.

Choose raw galvanized for that industrial zinc patina. Powder coat for a clean, color-matched look. Or let it weather into a natural patina that deepens with time. Every finish is applied in-house.

05 — Fire Resistance

Steel Doesn't Burn.

Wood planters rot. Plastic planters melt. Galvanized steel holds up — to sun, to rain, and to fire. For properties in wildfire-prone areas across San Diego, Orange County, and LA County, steel planters are a simple, functional upgrade to your defensible space. No combustible materials. No maintenance cycle. Just steel.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about custom steel planters.

The hot-dip galvanization process coats the steel in a thick layer of zinc that acts as a sacrificial barrier. Even if the surface is scratched, the zinc corrodes before the steel does. In Southern California's dry climate, a galvanized planter will last 25+ years before the coating needs attention.

Weight depends on size. A 4 ft x 12 in model weighs approximately 30–35 lbs empty. An 8 ft x 18 in model weighs approximately 65–75 lbs empty. All are manageable for two people and stay put once filled with soil.

Yes. Galvanized steel is designed for permanent outdoor exposure. It handles UV, rain, heat, and coastal salt air. No covers, no seasonal storage, no maintenance required.

We deliver across San Diego County, Orange County, and Los Angeles County. Installation is available for commercial projects and large residential orders. Standard orders ship or deliver direct from our Escondido shop.
